Q. What is The Nonprofit Directory?

The Nonprofit Directory is a powerful, searchable online database of local nonprofit organizations that serve Collier County, Florida. This resource was created to help donors and local residents better understand Collier County’s nonprofit community and discover how to engage in the cause they care most about. The Nonprofit Directory is an initiative of Collier Community Foundation™.


Q. Which organizations can participate?

Organizations that are verified 501( c )(3) public charity designated organizations that file an IRS Form 990 or 990EZ* and provide services to benefit the public in Collier County.

Organizations must be viable, functioning nonprofits that provide substantive services or programs to increase the quality of life for Collier County residents.

*If you do not file an IRS Form 990 or 990EZ, you must provide at least one year of income statements and balance sheets for your organization. These financial documents must be signed by your Executive Director or Board Chair.


Q. What are the benefits of participating?

  • Increase awareness of your organization among potential donors and new audiences
  • Tell your story and make a case for support
  • Help the community understand the need for your services, solutions, and results
  • Drive donations and support
  • Current profiles are required to participate in CCF competitive grant programs and the day of giving, Give Where You Live
  • The CCF teams uses the contact email addresses listed in your profile to share important news such as grant cycle dates, educational opportunities, etc. If your contacts are not up-to-date, your nonprofit will miss receiving important messages and grant opportunities.


Q. How can my nonprofit create a profile?

Organizations that register to have a profile with The Nonprofit Directory are reviewed by the CCF team. Within a week following an application, the team will either approve your request, request supplemental documentation to finish reviewing your application, or deny your request. You will see your current status on your Directory dashboard. Click here for more information. Once your status states "Pending" you may start customizing your profile.


Q. How often do I need to update or edit my nonprofit’s profile?

At least once a year in order to be eligible to receive competitive grants and participate in the day of giving. An up-to-date profile is an excellent way to share accurate information with potential donors and the broader community.


Q. How do I update or edit an existing profile?

You can quickly log in to your nonprofit administrative dashboard by clicking on the green "Menu" button located in the top right corner of your screen and clicking "Log In".

Q. Can my nonprofit have multiple managers?

Yes! It is encouraged to have multiple managers. Existing managers can add new managers by following the steps outlined here. Updating your managers through staffing changes will ensure your nonprofit receives important news about grants and other opportunities.


Q. What is the recommended browser to use with the Nonprofit Directory?

While the Nonprofit Directory website will perform optimally with most browsers, we always recommend visitors use the most updated version of your browser for a better and faster user experience for both you and your donors. Of these, our recommended browser is Google Chrome. That's because Chrome undergoes regularly-scheduled updates, and tends to be more reliable due to its adaptability to a wide range of features and functionality. Q. What is the Nonprofit Directory?

The Nonprofit Directory, an initiative of the Collier Community Foundation™, is a powerful, searchable online database of local nonprofit organizations that serve Collier County, Florida. This resource was created to help donors, professional advisors, and local residents better understand Collier County’s nonprofit community and discover how to engage in the cause they care most about.


Q. How can the Nonprofit Directory help me make philanthropic decisions?

As the Nonprofit Directory serves as a database of nonprofit agencies, each nonprofit has an individual profile where you can learn more about its mission, programs, financials, and more. Every profile contains specific details to help expand the organization's reach and raise awareness to their initiatives. You can use these profiles to make your philanthropic decisions based on the information provided by the nonprofits themselves.


Q. How can I use the Nonprofit Directory?

Once you have located the nonprofit of your choice, browse through their profile to learn more about the organization, programs, financial information, legal details, as well as available volunteer opportunities. If you wish to learn more about a specific nonprofit, please refer to the Contact Information located on each profile to contact the organization directly.


Q. How can I search for participating nonprofits?

Users can search for nonprofit agencies by entering the organization's name here. If you don't know the name of your desired nonprofit, you can also search by location or by cause area. Visit the Organizations page to begin your search. If a nonprofit isn’t in the directory, it’s because they haven’t created a profile yet or they don’t qualify to be in the directory.


Q. What if I can't find the organization I'm looking for on the Nonprofit Directory?

If you're unable to find a specific nonprofit, please send an email to info@colliercf.org to request that we contact your organization of choice. If a nonprofit isn’t in the directory, it’s because they haven’t created a profile yet or they don’t qualify to be in the directory.


Q. What if the information in the Nonprofit Directory looks out of date or inaccurate?

It’s the responsibility of the nonprofit to create their profile and keep their information up-to-date. The Collier Community Foundation™ makes every effort to invite qualifying nonprofits to complete and maintain their profiles.


Q. How can I support a nonprofit that I learn about in the directory?

If you established a donor advised fund with the Community Foundation, you may log into Donor Central and make a grant from your fund, or you may contact Community Foundation staff who will be happy to assist you.

The Nonprofit Directory is a year-round, everyday online resource that details the programs and finances of our local nonprofits.

Give Where You Live Collier is a 24-hour online giving event in February to celebrate and increase online giving for selected nonprofit agencies in Collier County. To learn more about Give Where You Live, click here.
